The answers were tabled in Parliament on Thursday and Friday by Thoko Didiza, the minister for Agriculture. According to Didiza, there are 1,612 CPA’s but 1,370 of them are dysfunctional and don’t adhere to legal requirements and responsibilities. Cyril Ramaphosa said that at least 10 people had been killed in the recent wave of rioting and violence directed at foreign nationals in SA. In a televised address on Thursday, he gave an estimated death toll for the violence that has gripped parts of the country since Sunday, in which foreign workers have been targeted and dozens of shops looted or destroyed.
